10-9-12- Milt Jackson, American jazz vibraphonist died. b. 1923. Jackson was a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet. He was known for his incredibly skillful vibraphone solos. Dizzy Gillespie, famous jazz trupet player, hired him early in his career. By doing this, Jackson quickly met many big names in the world of jazz.

9-12-2003- Johnny Cash passes away. Cash was a great American singer-song writer born in 1932. His songs spanned the genres of rock-n-roll, country, and rockabilly.
